Poor Bubba!! He was just chewing on a stick outside. Grits walked by him and Bubba made a little growl. Grits then proceeded to take that growl as a threat and attacked the 12 year boxer. I ran towards them and jumped on top of my 140 pound dog and started beating the shit out of him so he would release his jaws from Bubbas neck. But I think the more I beat him the harder his jaw locked. It was terrible! I know I screamed like a little girl but I was so scared he was going to kill him. He finally released Bubba and I moved him into the house and to check out the damage. He had 8 puncture wounds. I was so pissed. If anyone knows my dog, he is just a big old teddy bear and I can't believe what I just witnessed. Something really ticked him off. He's been in a few fights with my other dogs but that was always over food and it was never this serious. Poor Bubba did survive. He was taken to the vet today and they suggested one of the puncture wounds was bad enough to stitch but they recommended us not to have that done because they were afraid that there was bacteria in it and they didn't want there to be an infection. It'll all heal on it's own. I just feel so bad for Bubba, he's so old and he couldn't even fight back.
John is still in the hospital. When they were doing the steroid injection they noticed that he had two ruptured discs. He is recovering but it is at a very slow pace. Hopefully he will be making his way home soon. I know the dogs and I miss him a lot.
